At Home with Fashion's Finest: Ralph Lauren and Cindy Crawford

With Fashion Week and trend reporting on our minds, I wanted to take you on a quick trip down memory lane and look at the homes of some of fashions pioneering trendsetters.

In the November 2004 issue of Architectural Digest, Stephen Drucker gave us a look inside Ralph Lauren's Bedford Beauty.  Bedford is about ten minutes from my current house and I frequent a few shops there.  Take a look, its a visual feast:

Ralph and Ricky are stunning

I love the antique English chandelier and the edgy zebra wing chairs

The layered prints on the wall give a cozy feel.  This reminds me of the dining room at Tucker's Point in Bermuda, where my husband and I own property.

I love the tartan fabric and still life.

I am a big fan of family photos and of course, blue and white porcelain.

The layering in this room is incredible and lends warmth.  Leopard and animal prints are add texture.

I love the deep blue walls and Georgian mahogany-and-walnut bureau/writing desk and the regency bed.

The main house is 17,000 square feet and sits on more than 250 acres.  Is this Bedford or the English countryside?

From designer to model, we go next to Architectural Digest's March 2001 feature on Cindy Crawford's Upper East Side apartment.  At the time, she lived there with her husband, Rande Gerber and son, Presley.  Interior architecture by Ferguson Shamamian & Rattner, Interior Design by Michael Smith (who we love) and Photography by Scott Frances.

Cindy and Rande's master bedroom in pale hues - a very feminine and romantic room

The sitting area of her master bedroom.  I love the aged bamboo chair!
