Charlotte Moss’s Spectacular Ski Retreat

The snow continues to fall here at my suburban home in Westchester county, outside of New York City.  We have just come inside from building a fabulous snowman and taking our kids on the swings in their snow suits.  There are few things as fun for children as making snow angels or diving down a slide head first and landing in a pile of snow!  According to the weather reports, it will be snowing until midnight tonight and with that said, thoughts of hitting the slopes and retreating back to elegant ski chalets apres ski for a nice fire and bubbly have entered my mind!

Elle Decor did a fabulous write up on Charlotte Moss’s Chic Ski Retreat.  The article was written by Mitchell Owens, styled by Stephen Pappas and photographed by Pieter Estersohn. I am a big fan of Charlotte’s.  Employees from her design company have ordered from us in the past for design projects and I look forward to seeing her room at the Kips Bay Designer Showhouse every year.  It really is a treat!  If you are a fan of hers, you would surely enjoy taking a photo tour of her elegant Aspen home, which sits on a 11,212 foot-high peak looking straight onto Aspen Mountain.  There are 17 photos in Elle Decor’s slideshow and I have selected just a few, so read the article in its entirety to see more:

Here is another perspective on that wall shot with the mirrors and wall brackets.  I am a huge fan of blue and white porcelain and transfer ware.  I have perhaps one of the web’s biggest collections online of blue and white porcelain pieces – check it out here

I like Charlotte’s use of the green lanterns.  If you like this look, take a look at my Chandelier collection.  I have a number of fabulous lanterns in different hues that would create a similar feel, especially the Green Square Durham Lantern which can be purchased here http://www.wellappointedhouse.com/Products/150023-green-square-durham-lantern.aspx:

If all of this talk of Charlotte’s gorgeous ski retreat has you thinking of booking a quick ski weekend (and Aspen, Vail or Telluride are out of the question last minute) check out the Stowe Mountain Lodge.  A good friend of mine just went with her three kids and I got a glowing review.
