We love the ikat upholstered head board and drapes in Charly's bedroom and the posh, neutral interiors with hints of chinoiserie styling in the sitting room. Another Oscar noteworthy movie with amazing interiors is Sherlock Holmes.
It's not hard to see why this film was nominated for Art Direction (in addition to Original Score) with all the Victorian gilded accents and touches of the far East. Although somewhat "jilted" in the nominations, there is no denying Nine is a visual stunner.
With all the dressing room and stage shots it makes us want to find a place for one of our Hollywood inspired lamps like the below:
Or this standing version:
Meryl Streep is a heavy favorite for Best Actress for Julia and Julia, but it was her kitchen that was overlooked for best supporting actress!
No wonder she is known as one of the world's best chef of all time! We love the muted greens and blue paired with some subtle French Country accents. This Blue Pastoral Dinner Set would fit right into the scene above.
Be sure to check back with The Well Appointed House after the Oscars on Sunday where we will give a full report on the runway trends, the looks we loved and, well, those we didn't.
