Happy Fourth of July!  We watched fireworks on Long Island Sound last night from a favorite spot of ours at our beach club in Rye.  This morning, we were invited to join an old-fashioned family parade at a beautiful neighborhood down by the water in Greenwich -- and this evening, we are preparing for a cozy family BBQ with a few close friends.  This particular weekend has a special place in my heart.  I was married in Boston July 6 of 2002 and took advantage of having a holiday weekend wedding and packed it with parties and fireworks.  It's a weekend I'll always remember.  I love the American flag and decorating the house with it makes this weekend that much more fun!  Here are a few photos from my house today.

Nothing says summer more than homemade whipped cream!  I just made a bowl of it and made some simple strawberry and blueberry bowls for our guests. Yum! Enjoy the fourth with your families! ~Melissa Hawks
