Round Swamp Farm, a National Bicentennial farm located in East Hampton, NY and started by the Lester family – has opened an outpost in Bridgehampton. I’ve been by twice this week to pick up fresh fruits and vegetables and delicious prepared foods to allow for more time at the beach! I love the kale salad and my children have enjoyed the chicken pot pie and delicious lemon and zucchini breads. Check out some of the prepared foods here to know what you can pick up if you’re in a hurry and have unexpected guests stopping by for lunch!
Another newbie is Shuko, a pop-up sushi restaurant that opened July 1 by chefs Nick Kim and Jimmy Lau (who had success with Neta in the West Village) in the old Highway Diner & Bar space on Montauk Highway in East Hampton. I was there twice last week, once with friends and once with my children – and we were pleasantly surprised to be seated next to funny-man Jimmy Fallon! Soon Kim and Lau will open a Union Square location.
That’s Jimmy Fallon dining next to my girls (as you can tell by their funny faces — he’s to their left) – we later watched his “Tight Pants”, “Hashtag” and other funny Fallon classics in the car on the way back home and had lots of laughs! Other recent Shuko guests included Gwyneth Paltrow, the Seinfelds, Delfina Blaquier, Matt Lauer and others.
Check it out! New York’s Harlow also opened in Sag Harbor, replacing the old B.Smith’s, which had been a popular standby on Long Wharf since 1997. It’s definitely worth checking out if you haven’t been by yet. My husband and I enjoyed a nice lunch on the water there last week together. If you can’t make it for dinner, definitely go by on a sunny day for lunch!
