Backstage at Jill Stuart’s Home

With fashion fever running rampant, Elle Decor sat down with Jill Stuart to get a backstage look at the designer to discuss the inspiration behind her six bedroom, five bathroom NYC downtown house with 360 degree views of the Hudson River.“It’s very quiet up here, like an oasis,” Stuart says. “I love how I can look out the window and see the Statue of Liberty or relax in my bathtub and watch boats go by. That’s true peace.”
The Well Appointed House loves Stuart’s sense of fashion as much as we love her apartment! We are especially keen on the clean lines and chunky neutral sofas with pops of pinks and hints of blues and unexpected sources of glamour where you least expect them, like this gorgeous chandelier that peeks out from the hall.

Like her home and the trends we have seen throughout fashion week, Jill Stuart’s Spring 2010 collection had that basic base with slashes of pinks and a wide variety of materials. Meshing her new collection with her home I’ve created a room look inspired by the two using Well Appointed Products, perfect for use in your own home!

Some key components to keep in mind are the stud detailing, mixture of textures and of course that HOT PINK punch against the black and tan. Click room for complete list of products used and links.
