Vogue’s Fashion’s Night Out in New York City September 10, 2009

Oh, what a night…

Last night’s Fashion’s Night Out, organized by Vogue Magazine and the Council of Fashion Designers of America, was a smashing success.  The coordinated events throughout New York City and the world, left crowds and onlookers abuzz as celebrities, fashion designers and the general public mixed and mingled until the wee hours of the morning.  The evening was the brainchild of Vogue editor, Anna Wintour, to inspire shopping during these recession-hit times.

Melissa Hawks, Owner of The Well Appointed House, attended events at Bergdorf Goodman, Van Cleef & Arpels and Cartier.   Zac Posen kicked off the evening by creating a stir in one of Bergdorf’s famous Fifth Avenue windows, where he painted original designs onto a model’s dress.    Crowds gathered quickly and were afluter with excitement.  Every floor of the famed luxury goods department store glittered with special celebrity guests and events.  Pasma Lakshmi, Peter Som, Lela Rose, Giles Mendel, Edward Bess and Cynthia Rowley held an informal cook-off in the glamorous 7th floor restaurant….Lela Rose poured Vodka at the bar for excited fans and guests.

Blogger Emily Orley posted, “Not Much to See (If You’re Us!) at Bergdorf Goodman on Fashion’s Night Out…well, fortunately, we were some of the lucky few up at the bar on the 7th floor…and as you can see by our pictures, not a person in front of us!
