While reading the “What’s In, What’s Out” section of People Style Watch‘s December/January issue the other night, a really cute pillow caught my eye. After doing a double take it finally sunk in that, “Hey! That’s our King of Spade Needlepoint Pillow!”
Blogger Nick Olssen isn’t a fan of the Casino Royale look but we happen to think that James Bond’s sexy, sleek, modern sophistication can be made quite homey, with the right accents. In this polyvore set we have used our designer “Bond Series” console, side table and desk. Made of a light burled maple wood and lucite these pieces make a statement alone or with each other as backup.
Queen of Spades Needlepoint Pillow, $95
Metro Decanters in Three Designs, $148
WellAppointedHouse. Jonathan Adler Bond Console, $3,800
WellAppointedHouse. Jonathan Adler Bond Desk, $2,750
WellAppointedHouse. Jonathan Adler Baxter Loveseat, $2,650
The King and Queen of Spades pillows look great in this sitting room; the needlepointing is classic but the modern artistry means they can transcend styles. We also used our new double cloth lacquered coffee table, which adds another warm texture to the already comfy leather sofa. With these monogrammed playing cards you can add a personal element to game night with friends! (They also make a great gift!)
Speaking of James Bond, my sources tell me that his favorite Miami hotel (the Fontainebleu of course) will be hosting a spectacular New Year’s Eve bash complete with Lady Gaga. Melissa Hawks will give us a full report on the evening’s festivities. If you haven’t yet made your New Year’s plans, stay tuned for our next blog on New Year’s celebrations!
