Oscar de la Renta in Bloom: Floral Details

There is a reason why Oscar de la Renta appeals so to the society ladies-who-lunch set — his ladylike pieces are actually the perfect thing to wear to a society lunch…or cocktails…or a ball, for that matter. In fact, he is a red carpet favorite because he knows how to make a woman look feminine and elegant. And certainly, his spring 2011 line will not disappoint his loyal clientele. Cheery floral details adorned many pieces in his collection. Appliqued and embroidered on a flaxen linen sundress, suit and coat, the colorful blooms add just the right amount of spring spirit to the classic cuts.

Oscar will always be the king of ladylike dressing in my book…no one does it better. Thankfully there seems to be a return to the appeal of this type of dressing, one I never steered away from but was always drawn to. Roses, flowers, softness, femininity, love it all.
