I attended a screening of the new surf movie, Sight/Sound, Saturday July 23rd at the Montauk staple, The Surf Lodge. The film follows director and professional surfer Mickey DeTemple and friends as they surf the world no matter the weather. Tommy Hilfiger invested in the film so you can image everyone was decked out in their worn in bermuda reds and cotton button downs. Check out a sneak peek below.
You don’t need to be a surfing enthusiast to enjoy this artful, beautifully directed film. It was the perfect summer night and what better place than The Surf Lodge to host the East End Premier.
The decor at this local hot spot is kitschy and laid-back chic, which makes it easy to relax and enjoy a delicious ginger lemonade with friends. It also is very inspiring in terms of how to decorate your seaside retreat. At The Well Appointed House there is an enormous selection of products to achieve this look. Here are some of my favorites:
Get out of the expected nautical norms by pairing traditional black and white sailing pictures with bright lacquered pieces and revamped wicker chairs. Adding fun pillows is a given but that paper mache jelly fish light…. now that’s a bright idea.
