Do It Yourself! A Painted Sea Grass Rug

It’s always fun when you come across a great idea.  I’m a huge fan of Mary McDonald and once in a while, she and I tweet each other from the East coast to the West….

I was just doing some reading in Veranda and came across this photo of a guesthouse master bedroom with wood floors that Mary didn’t want to tear up.  So, she took a seagrass rug and had her own pattern painted on it.  Who knew?!
Painting a seagrass, sisal or jute rug wasn’t something I had thought of before.  Leave it to Mary McDonald!  It’s actually a great idea, especially if you’ve got a rug with some marks on it!  Bring it back to life with your very own geometric design!  If geometry isn’t your bag, baby, then try some stripes!  Good luck!
