Now That’s a Window Treatment! And is That a Chandelier or the Emerald Forest?!

It’s rare that I see a window treatment that I haven’t seen before in a home, at a showhouse or in one of my favorite shelter magazines.  I even recently bought some fabulous books on window treatments to have when looking for ideas and I hadn’t seen this one before.

It’s from last week’s “The New York Times Style Magazine” – which I love.  The photo was from an article called The Contrarians, featuring collectors Jean and Steven Goldman’s Chicago apartment.  Jean did the decorating and the curtains are like a playful twist on a traditional swag and cascade.  It looks like the jabots are tied twice.  Interesting!

T Magazine never fails to interest me and the other interesting article was on German lighting designer  Ingo Maurer’s creations.    He outdid himself this year with a 12-foot-high hanging design of emerald-green sponges containing 100 delicately hand-painted models of insects, lizards and creatures.  Pilar Viladas gives an inside look in the article.  This photo really “wowed” me!
