Those of you who follow the blog may know that I just love Diptyque Candles. The company, was founded in Paris in 1961 by three friends: Desmond Knox-Leet, Christiane Gautrot and Yves Coueslant. All of them were from the world of decor and fine arts. They opened their first store on 34 boulevard Saint-Germain and initially sold their own furnishings and a unique collection of traditional English perfumes, at that time not widely sold in France. Their fragrance offerings evolved to include an incredible range of scents both for the body and home over the past fifty years.
A good friend recently brought me one of the new scented ovals as a housewarming gift. I liked it so much that I plan to buy more. An oval of scented wax, engraved with the name of the scent included inside, is encased in a white porcelain medallion. It’s the perfect drawer sachet, you can hang it on a powder room door or place it in a linen closet to keep it fresh. They can be purchased at Nordstrom or Bergdorf Goodman.
I have been a big fan of their room sprays for years and as if those weren’t fabulous enough, Diptyque is making it easier for us to keep our rooms smelling like their Parisian store with this luxurious Un Air de Diptyque. It’s like the Tiffany of Glade Air Fresheners! It isn’t inexpensive at a whopping $350 — so this truly is a luxury! The fabulous scents are distributed through the air by way of this electric diffuser. Simply pick your scent, purchase the capsule for $38 and start diffusing!
If the diffuser is too pricey, stick with the room sprays! The retail in the $60 range. Enjoy!
