Battle for the Elephants Screening and Reception in Greenwich, CT – May 1, 2014 – Wildlife Conservation Society

My husband and I are excited to be working in partnership with the Wildlife Conservation Society and hosting a special screening of National Geographic’s Battle for the Elephants at the Greenwich Country Day School’s Performing Arts Center (PAC) on Thursday, May 1st. I wanted to extend an open invitation for you to join us, if you live in the NYC, Greenwich, Westchester or Fairfield County area and have an interest in saving the elephants. Did you know that 96 elephants are killed every day in Africa? Increasing demand for ivory is fueling a brutal slaughter of African elephants. The situation has become so grave that poachers are now lacing watering holes with cyanide and wiping out all of the elephants drinking there at once. Baby elephants are being left to die without their parents. If the killing is allowed to continue, elephants will be extinct in the next ten years. We cannot be the last generation that allows elephants disappear from Africa’s forests and savannas. Please join us Thursday May 1st at the GCDS Performing Arts Center at 401 Old Church Road in Greenwich, CT to hear more. See a 50 minute film by National Geographic and speak with a film producer and scientist from the Wildlife Conservation Society who are in the field trying to save the last of the elephants. Come and hear more about how you can help. Become involved with WCS. Thank you for your support! ~Melissa Hawks
