Sponsored Post: Check out the Find the Farrow & Ball Front Door Scavenger Hunt in Greenwich and Westport on October 3rd!

Nothing says “welcome” like a gorgeous and well-maintained front door.  Farrow and Ball has long been a favored brand for decor enthusiasts throughout the United States and Europe because of its high quality.  The paint reflects light in all the right places and gives a rich, saturated color that highlights the carpentry beneath.

A freshly painted door, whether in a rich hue, one that’s bright and colorful or soft and subdued – makes a statement about those that reside within! That design matters…

As we move into the Fall and Winter season, the front “stoop” becomes a focal point of the home. If there are three months of the year when the front door gets its close-up – it’s definitely the October/November/December time frame.  People love to put out cheerful mums, freshly carved pumpkins and spooky Halloween skeletons, bats, goblins and ghouls in time for trick-or-treaters and their parents as they go from house to house.  How often throughout the year does one front door get so much action? If you live in a neighborhood with kids, get ready for the neighbors with whom you’ve been meaning to catch up with all year to pop by in streams of twenty at a time on Halloween night!  If that door has been at the bottom or your list, let’s start thinking about how to spruce it up!  It will get plenty of action on Halloween!

Come Thanksgiving the black cats, witches and ghosts are put back into storage and it’s time for wreaths of pheasant feathers, squash, Indian corn and cornucopias to be placed around the threshold to celebrate our nation’s harvest.  The front door takes on yet another inviting role welcoming guests for the Thanksgiving feast!  By the time Christmas arrives, festive poinsettias and lit-up topiaries dress up the front door.  The Fall and Winter holidays provide ample time and reason to make the front door the centerpiece of the home!

Loved this post! Wondering what the Farrow and Ball color is for the door in the first picture (with the lion door knocker)? Thanks in advance!
